360 Letters
Today we sent Senator Cornyn 360 letters about Alzheimer’s.
If you’ve ever attended an event hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter, you’ve probably been asked to join us in our awareness campaign for elected officials. We ask pretty much anyone we come in contact with to write to their legislators because our elected officials have the ability to make real progress in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. The letters we sent to Senator Cornyn today asked him to:
- Make Alzheimer’s research a priority at the National Institutes of Health;
- Sponsor legislation that will ensure diagnosis and care planning for people with Alzheimer’s; and
- Join the bipartisan Congressional Alzheimer’s Task Force.
We’re hoping that with such large numbers of letters arriving regularly, the Senator and his colleagues will take notice of the Alzheimer’s epidemic and take part in the fight. Here’s picture of our big ol’ stack of letters:
We’ll keep you posted on any progress we make with the Senator and any of our elected officials. If you’d like to join us in educating our legislators about Alzheimer’s and how it impacts Texans, become an advocate today. You can do that by clicking this link.
