Alzheimer’s Action Day
We’ll all come together for a night of fun at Discovery Green on September 21 at 7:30 p.m., Alzheimer’s Action Day, where we’ll screen everyone’s favorite date-night movie, The Notebook. Oh, and keep an eye out for some important buildings in Houston that have decided to join us in Going Purple for a Purpose on Alzheimer’s Action Day, including Houston City Hall and Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center!
Take the Lead
September is World Alzheimer’s Month, a time to shine a purple light for the 35.6 million people globally afflicted with Alzheimer’s. On September 21 each year, we celebrate Alzheimer’s Action Day, a day to renew our hope that one day we will realize our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s. We need your help to honor the millions of people who struggle with this disease every day by mobilizing friends, families, neighbors, coworkers and customers to help bring an end to Alzheimer’s disease. During World Alzheimer’s Month, you can have a profound impact on the disease that kills more Americans than breast and prostate cancer combined.
- Casual for a Cause Day at your workplace. For a small donation, you and your colleagues can dress down and wear purple with a purpose to help spread awareness on Friday, September 21.
- Create purple products such as purple desserts and purple accessories. If you work at a company that can create purple products, please contact us for a partnership opportunity.
- Host a purple event. Hold your own fundraising event to raise funds and awareness about the disease.
