Team Spotlight: Sheltering Arms Senior Services

Today Annette and Katie, the captains of the Sheltering Arms Day Center team share their story with us!

Q: Tell us about Sheltering Arms Senior Services:

A: Sheltering Arms Senior Services is a nonprofit organization committed to the health and well-being of older adults and their family caregivers. Since 1893, we have helped seniors embrace life with dignity and independence. We provide comprehensive services including care management, telephone reassurance, caregiver support, home care services and the dementia care day center.

Q: How did you get involved in Walk to End Alzheimer’s?

A: This is the first time that Sheltering Arms will be participating in the walk as part of a team and we are excited about this opportunity that all of us as individuals have to be a part of something bigger.

Q: Who do you Walk for?

A: We are all walking for our loved ones; our mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers.

Q: Who is on your Walk team?

A: Our team is comprised of both family members of Sheltering Arms clients as well as staff members from the center.

Q: What is your favorite fundraising event leading up to the Walk?

A: We are looking forward to a big fundraising event which will take place 9/24-9/28 during the Day Care Center??????s 25th anniversary celebration.

Q: What is your goal for this year??????s Walk?

A: Our goal is to honor our loved ones, assist in bringing awareness to Sheltering Arms Senior Services and dementia.????? And of course, to raise as much money for this important cause as we possibly can.
