The Alzheimer’s Association second largest annual fundraiser is called the Longest Day. The day is dedicated to raising awareness and funds towards research of the disease. It is called The Longest Day because for a family or a caregiver of someone with Alzheimer’s disease, every day feels like the longest day. Every year, The Longest Day is celebrated on the summer solstice – hence the longest day of the year!
This year the summer solstice was held on this past Sunday July 21st! On Sunday, participants did many activities to spread awareness about the disease – anything! Participants danced, cooked, walked, played board games, sang karaoke, and bowled!
Thank you to everyone who participated!
